PulseUp for Athletes

PulseUp gives athletes a personalized workout plan, precise workout and cardio tracking, gamification through XP and streaks, and a Crew to train with.

What athletes get

An athlete on PulseUp gets a personalized workout plan matched to their goals, experience and equipment, an exercise library with clear instructions for every movement, and precise tracking for both strength training and cardio (running, walking and cycling).

On top of tracking, PulseUp adds gamification (XP, levels, streaks, achievements and leaderboards) and social training features (Crew, Party Workout, Live Cardio and a social feed) — none of which require training with anyone else unless the athlete wants to.

How it works

During a strength workout, an athlete logs sets, reps and weight per exercise, with a built-in rest timer between sets. During cardio, distance, pace and calories are tracked precisely for both outdoor and indoor sessions, with Apple Health and Health Connect syncing heart rate, active energy and steps automatically.

Every completed workout earns XP toward a level. Training on consecutive days builds a streak, and reaching a milestone — a workout count, a distance goal, a streak length — unlocks an achievement that can be shared to the social feed.

When an athlete wants company, they can form a Crew with friends, chat with them directly, start a synchronized Party Workout where the whole group begins and finishes together, or join a Live Cardio session and see the Crew's position and pace on a shared map. PulseUp also helps athletes find nearby gyms wherever they're training.

Who this is for

Any athlete who wants to train with a plan and track the result — whether they train completely on their own, follow a program assigned by a personal trainer, or work with a nutritionist on their diet alongside their training.

How this fits into PulseUp

This is the base experience every PulseUp account starts with. If an athlete is later coached by a personal trainer or guided by a nutritionist, their programs and plans arrive inside this same toolkit — nothing about the athlete's own tracking, XP or Crew changes.
